Selecting the Notes

Selecting the notes for QEM No. 1 was one of the most challenging parts of the entire creation process.

Our goal wasn't simply to create a floral fragrance—it was to create a floral fragrance that both men and women could wear comfortably. We wanted jasmine to feel elegant and refined without becoming overly feminine, while the citrus opening needed enough brightness to immediately capture attention.

The top notes became the foundation of the fragrance.

We experimented with well over one hundred different citrus combinations, testing countless balances until every note worked in harmony.

Eventually, we discovered the perfect pairing:

• Juicy Orange
• Crisp Bergamot

The sweetness and tanginess of orange naturally softened the sharp freshness of bergamot. Together, they created a vibrant opening that flowed effortlessly into the jasmine heart rather than competing with it.
